Why do some Hylunia products contain silicone?

Hylunia’s products are all water-based and therefore require a small amount (less than 5% of the l formulation) of inert silicone to provide slip and reduce tackiness of the product. Penetration is dependent on the concentration of the silicone. A very small percentage of silicone is used so that it does not clog the skin and let the active ingredients penetrate. Silicone is derived from Silica and is a natural product and very safe to use on the skin.
